 Where do airplanes go? 

Beyond the tree, beyond the farthest edge of the highest building, beyond the deepest blue atmosphere, beyond the blur of fog & clouds…

Where do airplanes go?

Beyond what the eye can see…

Similarly so, where do hawks go? Where do hummingbirds go? 

Where do the cicadas, locusts, & fireflies go?

Here-then-in-a-blink-blur-gone…

then, as some depart in aerodynamic acrobatics,

others return to press wheels firmly into the ground-then-glide-

                                                                                                              then-that which once flied 

above where the mortal eye can see, returns to the mortal world of rooted trees, 

                                                                             the world of footed human eyes   

                                                                                        

watching-waiting-waiting for wings.
